The Benefits of Granite

Updated: Nov 5, 2020

Nothing is quite as aesthetically pleasing as the clean sleek look of shiny granite countertops in a clean, spacious, and bright kitchen. The contrast of earthy colors blended and swirled into the smooth stone gives your countertops a look that is both sophisticated and timeless.

Granite is among the most popular materials in use for modern kitchens, and it’s no wonder.

There are many benefits to using granite, especially in the kitchen.

Let’s get to know a few.

Stain resistant - Properly sealed granite is nearly impossible to stain. Even with the rock’s porous nature, if mopped up properly, water and oil will not leave marks on your kitchen’s masterpiece.

Scratch resistant - You can put away that cutting board, because no knife is strong enough to cut through granite! The only material capable of cutting granite is granite itself. (or a very sharp diamond) Properly sealed granite is nearly impossible to scratch! Your knives however, are another story so be careful not to dull your knives!

Heat resistant - Granite can take the heat! Allowing it to be the perfect candidate for kitchen counters, granite is a great resting place for pots and pans straight from the oven!

Antibacterial - Granite is naturally antibacterial, although that does not mean germ resistant. Properly sealed granite will not harbor bacteria as other materials might. Be sure to clean your granite countertops with soap and water regularly to keep them both sparkly and sanitary.

Available in a variety of colors, patterns and shapes - Granite is composed of different minerals such as Mica, Feldspar, and Quartz. The combination of minerals found in the stone determine the unique color and variation of the granite.

Maintenance - Maintain your granite's smooth and shiny nature by wiping it down daily with soap and warm water, or your favorite surface cleaner.
